Today is the Biblical feast of Yom Kippur, the "Day of Atonement."
The Bible tells us that all human beings are born into a fallen human nature, and are by nature, sinners. No one escapes this, no matter how "good" that person is, "for ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
Romans 3:23
Sin separates us from God.
God so loved us that he sent his Son to take upon himself the judgment due on all our sins, reconciling to himself each one who places their faith in Christ and the atonement he accomplished so that we can be saved.
John 3:16
